SPRAY FOAM ROOFING

A Top-rated Central Missouri Roofer for Spray Polyurethane Foam

Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is an eco-friendly and affordable roofing option for commercial and industrial facilities. While spray foam roofing is not as well known and only accounts for 10% of commercial roofs, the technology has been around since the early 1960s. An SPF roofing system can be used in any climate and can last over 50 years when properly maintained.

If you’re looking for commercial SPF foam roofing that is high quality, installed by experts, and competitively priced, Royal Roofing & Solar is here to help. We’re Central Missouri’s number one commercial roofing company for quality and value. You won’t find more thorough work at a better price anywhere. Spray Foam Installation

Before the installation can start, the existing roof needs to be prepped. Rather than stripping the existing roof, the contractor will most likely prepare the substrate by getting rid of all dirt, dust, and contaminants. This can be done with sweeping, brushing or air pressure. The first layer put down by the contractor is the polyurethane foam. This foam is created by combining two liquids, a polyol and an isocyanate, as it’s sprayed onto the current roof.

When the liquid is sprayed onto the the existing roof, the foam then expands about 20x its size to form a solid and seamless surface. Thickness can vary between1 and 2 inches when it’s all said and done.

Benefits of SPF Roofs

The list of benefits of installing a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing system are quite long:

Energy Efficiency – The energy efficiency and roof insulation properties of an SPF roof can have significant energy savings throughout the lifespan of the building its installed on. Studies show that the average return on investment period for a new foam roof can be attained in only 5 years.

Durability – It is one of the most durable materials as the foam can expand and contract with the temperatures, therefore decreasing the likelihood of cracking.

Seamless & Waterproof – Since the SPF mixture is applied as a liquid, it can fill seams, cracks, and any gaps that currently exist on the roof. All vulnerable leak areas are removed since there are no joints or seams.

Cost of Spray Polyurethane Foam Roofs

On average, a commercial roof will usually cost around $4.00 to $7.00 per square foot to install a SPF system. This is including materials and labor. That said, pricing can vary based on size of roof, thickness of the foam that’s desired, roof access, slope, climate, warranty, and more.

Affordable Foam Roof System Installation

There are many reasons that we recommend foam roofing installation for commercial buildings. Simple and fast installation, of course, is one reason, but we also strongly recommend commercial foam roofing for many buildings because it’s the most cost-effective over time. It’s very affordable on the front end and saves you a great deal of money over time due to its seamless leak protection as well as its improved energy efficiency.

Numerous commercial roofing systems, including flat roofing, multi-family roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, modified bitumen roofing, and others, are also something we work with.

We are experts in all types of commercial roofing, and we can give you a solid professional opinion if an SPF roof is right for you. Give us a call today!

Freequently Asked Questions

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory cites a study in the Appraisal Journal, which shows that home value increases $20 for every $1 reduction in annual utility bills. In other words, a solar energy system that saves $400 per year would add a value of $8,000 to your home!

Using solar power doesn’t always mean you’ve cut the cord to your utility provider. Generally, solar arrays are grid-tied, meaning your home’s system or a solar farm you’re subscribed to are linked to your local utility company’s electrical grid.

South-facing solar panels never have a shadow cast on them, and thus always face the sun for maximized efficiency.

How durable are solar panels?

While not indestructible, solar panels go through rigorous testing to ensure they meet quality standards. Because they’re meant to be outside, they are designed to be impact-resistant against thrown objects, average hailstorms, and even animal droppings and nests.

Is it advisable to clear snow or ice from solar panels after a storm?

Solar panels are dark and snow tends to melt off at a faster rate than normal. If you have a pitched roof, be careful of snowfall over walkways and entrances. Snow guards are always a good idea in these cases.

We recognize that deciding on a solar roof is a big decision. It can also be difficult to understand the process, installation, and technology. As Kansas City’s expert solar installer, Royal Roofing & Solar will guide you through the entire process. Call us today to get started.
